Scope of Data Collected About the User

The data collected by us can be classified into three categories:

  1. Data provided by You (hereinafter: User)
  2. Automatically collected data, and
  3. Data obtained from other sources

More details about each category are provided below.

Data Provided by the User:

Profile data. When creating a Flattel.com account, we collect data provided by the User, such as username, email address and/or phone number, and password. Additional information, such as profile picture, can be added to the profile. User-generated content. We collect content created or posted by the User on the Platform, including photos, videos, audio recordings, and related metadata (such as where, when, and by whom the content was created). Usergenerated content is collected at the time of creation, import, or upload, regardless of whether the User saves or uploads the content. We also collect content (such as text, images, and videos) from the User's device clipboard when the User copies and pastes content to or from the Platform or shares content between the Platform and a third-party platform. Direct messages. When the User communicates via direct messages with others, we collect the content of the messages and related metadata (such as the time of sending, receiving, and/or reading the message, and the participants of the message exchange). This is done to block spam, investigate crimes, and protect users. Purchase information. If payment is required, we collect payment card details or other payment information from third parties (such as PayPal). We also collect transaction data and purchase history. Surveys and promotions. We collect data provided by the User when participating in our surveys, promotions, sweepstakes, marketing campaigns, or events. Contact Information Provided when Contacting. We collect data provided by the User, such as information used to verify identity or age, feedback on the use of our Services, or data related to possible violations of our Terms of Use or other policies.

Automatically Collected Data

Technical Data. When accessing our Services, we collect certain device and network connection data. This information includes the device model, operating system, keystroke patterns or rhythms, IP address, and system language. We also collect service-related, diagnostic, and performance information, including crash reports and performance logs. When using our Platform, we automatically assign a device identifier and a user identifier to the User. If you log in from multiple devices, we identify your activity across multiple devices using device identifiers, user identifiers, and similar data; this serves security purposes and ensures seamless login. Location. We collect the approximate location of the User based on the User's technical data (such as SIM card and IP address); the purpose is to personalize the user experience and for diagnostics and troubleshooting. With the User's permission, we may also collect precise location determination information (such as GPS data). Usage Data. We collect information about how the User interacts with our Services, such as what content they view, how long and how often they use our Services, how they interact with other users, and including search queries and settings on the Platform. Content Characteristics and Features. Among other things, by identifying objects and environments; based on the appearance and location of a face or other body parts in an image; and based on the text spoken in usergenerated content, we detect and collect characteristics and features of user-generated content, such as video and audio recordings. We do this, for example, to moderate content, provide special effects (such as video filters and avatars), and provide captions. Inferred Information. Based on the information available about the User, we infer characteristics (such as age and gender) and interests of the User. We use these inferences for purposes such as maintaining the security of our Platform, moderating content, and, where permitted, displaying personalized advertisements based on interests. Cookies. To operate and provide our Services, we use cookies and similar tracking technologies. We use cookies to remember the User's language preferences, ensure that the User does not see the same video multiple times, and for security reasons. We also use these technologies for marketing purposes. If required by law, we obtain the User's consent to use cookies. Explanation on the use of cookies What is a cookie? During the visit to the website, the Data Controller uses so-called cookies. A cookie is a package of letters and numbers that our website sends to the User's browser with the aim of saving certain settings, facilitating the use of our website, and helping to collect some relevant, statistical information about our visitors. Some of the cookies (cookies) do not contain personal information and are not suitable for identifying individual users, but some of them contain individual identifiers - a secret, randomly generated number - stored by the User's device, thus ensuring the identification of the User. The operational duration of individual cookies (cookies) is described in the description of the respective cookies. Legal background and legal basis of cookies: The legal basis for data processing is the consent of the User under Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR. The main characteristics of cookies used by the website are generally as follows: Cookies strictly necessary for operation: These cookies are essential for the use of the website and enable the use of basic functions of the website. Without these cookies, many functions of the site will not be accessible to the User. The lifespan of these types of cookies is limited to the duration of the session. Cookies to improve user experience: These cookies collect information about the User's use of the website, such as which pages the User visits most frequently or what error message the User receives from the website. These cookies do not collect identifying information about the visitor, so they work with completely anonymous, general information. The data obtained from these cookies are used to improve the performance of the website. The lifespan of these types of cookies is limited to the duration of the session. Google Adwords cookie: When someone visits our site, the visitor's cookie identifier is added to the remarketing list. Google uses cookies - such as NID and SID cookies - in Google products, such as customizing ads visible in Google Search. For example, these cookies are used to remember the User's recent searches, previous interactions with advertisers' ads or search results, and visits to advertisers' websites. The AdWords Conversion Tracking feature uses cookies. Cookies are stored on the user's computer when a person clicks on an ad. Some common uses of cookies include: selecting ads based on what is relevant to the individual user, optimizing reports on campaign performance, and avoiding displaying ads that the user has already viewed. Google Analytics cookie: Google Analytics is Google's analytical tool that helps website and application owners get a more accurate picture of their visitors' activities. The service can use cookies to collect information and create reports on statistical data about the use of the website without individually identifying visitors to Google. The main cookie used by Google Analytics is the "ga" cookie. In addition to reports generated from website usage statistics, Google Analytics, along with some of the advertising cookies described above, can also be used to display more relevant ads in Google products (such as Google Search) and across the web. Other data from external sources

Advertising, measurement, and data partners. Advertisers and measurement and data partners share information with us, such as mobile identifiers for advertisements, hashed email addresses, and event information about actions taken by users on the website or application. Some of our advertisers and other partners allow us to collect similar information directly from their website or application through our advertising tools integration. Third-party platform data. When a user registers on Flattel.com through a third-party platform (such as Facebook or Google), the third-party platform shares certain information with us, such as the user's email address, user ID, and public profile. Integration partners. When contacting thirdparty services that integrate Flattel.com developer tools (such as applications, websites, or products), we receive information that allows us to provide authentication, publication, and similar functions across different services. This occurs, for example, when a user logs into another service with their Flattel.com account or uses the "share" button on Flattel.com in a third-party service to share content from there on Flattel.com. Other users. Other users or individuals may provide us with information about the user, such as when the user appears or is mentioned in another user's content or direct messages, in a complaint or feedback submitted by a third party.

Methods of using data

  • We use user data to operate, provide, develop, and improve our services, including but not limited to the following purposes.
  • Providing and administering our services, such as enabling the creation, sharing, and consumption of content, and facilitating interaction with other users and their content.
  • Personalizing and customizing the experience provided by the Platform.
  • Processing, facilitating, or fulfilling requests related to the sale and lease of real estate and related services.
  • Enforcing our Terms and other applicable policies related to users. We review user-generated content and other information to protect the security and well-being of our community.
  • Providing advertising services and development, including displaying ads (where permitted, personalized ads), and measuring and understanding the effectiveness of ads.
  • Maintaining and improving the security, safety, and stability of our services by identifying and addressing technical or security issues (such as technical errors, spam accounts, abuses, fraud, and illegal activities).
  • Reviewing, improving, and developing our services, including monitoring interactions and usage between tools, analyzing the use of our services, and providing information to our algorithms.
  • If you request certain features, we share your data with third-party platforms; this may include content sharing, such as integrating your Flattel.com account with a third-party service.
  • Promoting our services or third-party services through marketing communications, contests, sweepstakes, or promotions.
  • Fulfilling our legal obligations, or where necessary for the performance of tasks carried out in the public interest or for the protection of the vital interests of our users and other individuals.

Legal basis and data processing

We can only use your data if we have the necessary "legal basis" for it. We rely on different legal bases depending on why we use user data (in other words, what is the "purpose" of our data processing). These legal bases include contractual necessity, legitimate interest (ours, the user's, or another party's), consent, compliance with legal obligations, performance of tasks carried out in the public interest, and protection of vital interests.

Data security and retention

The security of user data is important to us. We maintain appropriate technical, administrative, and physical security measures to protect user data from unauthorized access, theft, disclosure, alteration, or loss. We regularly review our security measures to take into account new technologies and methods available. We retain data for as long as necessary for the provision of our services and for other purposes specified in the Privacy Policy. We also retain data to fulfill contractual and legal obligations, where there is a legitimate business interest (such as improving and developing our services, as well as increasing the security, safety, and stability of our services), and to assert or defend legitimate claims or interests. Retention periods vary depending on the type of data and the purposes of its use. For example, if we process user data to provide the user with the Service, we keep the data until the user has a Flattel.com account. This data includes profile data, user-generated content, and direct messages. If a user violates our Policies or Terms, we may immediately remove their profile data and/or user-generated content from public view, but we may retain the data in a manner necessary to address the violation.

Updating the Privacy Policy

We may modify or update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Users will be informed of significant changes to the policy through the Platform or by other means of notification. The "Last updated" date at the top of the policy indicates the effective date of these policy changes.
